Department of Informatics, University of Leicester, UK | Prof. Hui-Yu ZhouResearch Area: Prof. Zhou's research specialisation includes machine learning, computer vision, intelligent systems and signal processing. His research interest has focused on the development of AI/machine learning algorithms that enable a system to better understand and interpret images/signals. Brief biography: Prof. Huiyu Zhou received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Radio Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology of China and a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Dundee of United Kingdom, respectively. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Vision from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, supervised by Professors Patrick Green (Psychology) and Andrew Wallace (Computer Engineering).Prof. Zhou heads the Applied Algorithms and AI (AAAI) Theme and leads the Biomedical Image Processing Lab (BIPL) at University of Leicester. He was Director of MSc Programme (2018-2019) and Coordinator of MSc Distance Learning at Informatics (2018-2022), and is PGR Director and Deputy Director of Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Modelling (AIDAM). Prior to this appointment, he worked as Reader (2018-2020) at University of Leicester, and Lecturer (2012-2017) at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen's University Belfast (QUB). He was a visiting scholar of QUB during 2018-2020. |

Prof. Longkai WuResearch Area: Artificial Intelligence in Education, Intelligent Education Evaluation, Policy Recommendations and Practices on Educational Informatisation and Digitization. Brief biography: Longkai Wu is a professor and PhD supervisor at the National Engineering Research Centre for E-Learning & MOE Educational Informatisation Strategy Research Base, Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Learning Science and Technology from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence in Education, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Formal and Informal Learning, STEM, Learning by Inquiry, Information Technology and Policy in Education. He is the leading Principle Investigator of a key project funded by the National Social Science Fund of China, and he has also led and co-led several Singapore National Research Foundation and Ministry of Education funded research projects totaling over S$3 million. He has led the publication of four books and published over 100 international journal articles, international book chapters and top conference papers. He is also program committee member for international conferences organized by IEEE Technical Committee on Learning Technology, International AI & Education Society, Asia-Pacific Society of Computers in Education, and Global Chinese Society on Computers in Education. |

Atiquil IslamResearch Area: Assessment of Educational Technologies;Technology, People & Society;ICT in Higher Education;E-learning;Virtual Reality;Artificial Intelligence;Quality in Higher Education. Brief biography: Assoc. Prof. A.Y.M. Atiquil Islam is the Director of the International Graduate Program in Educational Technology at the Department of Education Information Technology of the East China Normal University. He is also a Guest Professor at the School of Teacher Education of Jiangsu University. He obtained a multidimensional PhD degree by combining two faculties, namely, Education and Computer Science & Information Technology at the Institute of Graduate Studies, University of Malaya. In his field of specialization, he developed and validated three models, namely, the Technology Adoption and Gratification (TAG) Model, the Technology Satisfaction Model (TSM) and the Online Database Adoption and Satisfaction (ODAS) Model. These models have been frequently applied by researchers to conduct their studies around the world. His high-quality publications are a witness to these models’ ability to solve the theoretical and practical problems of multiple disciplines. Dr. Islam has had almost 19 years of experience in academia, IT industry and business. With regard to leadership, he has proven his abilities as a chief executive in several business and social organizations from 2002 to 2007. Leading from the front, he has been conducting workshops on the application of Structural Equation Modeling and the Rasch Measurement Model since 2010. Furthermore, Dr. Islam has delivered keynote addresses, speeches, and guest lectures many times in the past five years. He has published nearly 81 papers in first-class international journals and conferences. One of his articles was listed as a “Highly Cited Paper” in Essential Science Indicators in 2022 & 2023. Dr. Islam is an Executive Editor of the International Journal of Smart Technology and Learning, Editor of Cogent Education (ESCI & Scopus), and Article Editor of SAGE Open (SSCI). |
Assoc. Prof. Jionglong SuResearch Area: Artificial Intelligence,Computer Science,Portfolio Management,Bioinformatics Brief biography: Dr Jionglong Su is the director of Education and R&D Institute, School of AI and Advanced Computing. He holds a PhD in Statistics (Warwick) and a PhD in Automatic Control and Systems Engineering (Sheffield). Before joining XJTLU, he worked for Warwick University, University College London and Nazarbayev University where he was the Maths Head. Dr Jionglong Su has held several key appointments in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, such as the Group Head in Undergraduate Studies and the Programme Director in Financial Mathematics. He was previously the Programme Director in Data Science and Big Data Technology in the Scvhool of AI and Advanced Computing. His research interests include bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, portfolio management and medical image processing. He is the principal investigator and research collaborator in several interdisciplinary research funded by the National Nature Science Foundation of China and State Key Laboratory of Software Architecture, with more than 4.5 million RMB in grant. Dr Jionglong Su actively participates in the university iLead teaching programmes as an instructor for Chinese universities teachers. He was the recipient of the 2017 XJTLU Outstanding Teacher Award. He is mainly engaged in teaching and scientific research in the field of maritme education, unmanned underwater vehicle guidance, control and coordination.
